JUMP IN! Pre-School sessions
Jump, roll and explore with your adult at Steel City Sports!
Where are sessions held?
All sessions are held at our venue: The Forge, 1 Wallace Road, Sheffield S3 9SR. We have plenty of parking spaces in our free car park and there is also lots of free on-street parking on the surrounding roads. We have room for pushchairs to be brought inside, there are 2 small steps as you come up to the door but we are on hand to help. We have baby change facilities including wipes. Our bathroom facilities are fully accessible for those with additional mobility needs.
What restrictions are in place?
When entering The Forge we would appreciate adults scanning our track and trace poster where possible.
Hand sanitiser is available around the gym and coaches will have gone through a thorough hand washing process before your arrival.
Although our governing body and Sport England state masks are not necessary for physical activity – we politely ask that adults wear a mask whilst moving around the building, unless you are unable to for medical reasons. Coaches will wear masks also when moving around the gym, removing them when social distancing is possible during our “Come together” portion of the class.
Coaches will support children physically - when their adult is not able to do so - for their safety. Every effort will be made to sanitise hands in between supporting different children.
Please do not attend our sessions if you have any symptoms of Covid-19, including but not limited to: high temperature, persistent cough or reduction in sense of taste or smell.
What happens in each session?
Our sessions are split into 3 activities:
Go explore – children can explore an exciting range of equipment and activity stations with their adult and our coaches
Come together – children and adults gather for a group activity focusing on communication, interaction and physical development
Aim high – children are challenged on more structured activities to work towards their own development goals
Our sessions are planned around a theme that changes every 6 weeks - our current theme is Tumble in the Jungle!
What should my child wear?
Children should wear comfortable clothing they can move freely in, bare feet (socks if required) with long hair tied back and all jewellery removed for safety. We ask that adults remove any outdoor shoes when on our sprung floor to protect the carpeted surface.
Please let us know if you have any further questions – we are happy to help.
